Google Business Profile Posts: What to Post Each Week to Get Found
A simple weekly plan for Google Business Profile posts, what Google's posting rules say, and the mistakes that get posts removed.
Why posts matter
Posts show up on your Business Profile when people find you on Google Search and Maps. They tell a customer, at a glance, that you are open, busy and doing real work right now. A profile with nothing new for months looks closed, even when it is not.
A four-post month
Use your own photos. Real work beats stock pictures every time.
- Week 1, proof: a photo of a finished job with one line about what you did.
- Week 2, help: a tip your customers would actually search for.
- Week 3, offer or availability: open times this week, a seasonal special, or how to book.
- Week 4, people: your team, a happy customer (with permission), or a behind-the-scenes photo.
Rules that get posts removed
Add a button to every post, such as Book, Call or Learn more, so a reader can act right away.
- Phone numbers, emails or social handles typed into the post. Google may remove posts with unverified contact details; use the Call button instead, which uses your verified number.
- Hashtags. They do nothing on Google and make the post look copied from Instagram.
- Anything on Google's prohibited and restricted content list.
