Step-by-step setup

Get SBS working for you

Follow these in order. Most people finish guides 1 to 5 in under an hour. Each guide says what you need before you start.

  1. Log in and set up your profile
  2. Connect Facebook and Instagram
  3. Upload photos and videos
  4. Turn on auto-posting
  5. Build your offer page
  6. Turn on missed-call text-back
  7. Set your hours and booking link
  8. Get reviews and bring clients back
About 10 minutes

1. Log in and set up your profile

Your profile tells SBS about your business, so the posts it writes sound like you.

Before you start
  • Your SBS access code (it comes by text or email after you sign up)
  1. Open the SBS dashboard, type your Access code, and tap Open dashboard.
  2. In the menu, open Settings → Business Profile.
  3. Under What kind of business do you run?, choose your type and tap Save business type.
  4. When it asks to apply recommended defaults for missed-call and review messages, tap Apply defaults. This writes those texts for you.
  5. Answer the questions you can: describe your business, your ideal customer, what makes you different, your strongest services.
    • Be specific. "Fades and beard work for busy professionals in South Tampa" beats "haircuts."
  6. Tap Save answers. You can come back and change this anytime.
Lost your access code?
Open the SBS dashboard login screen, tap the chat bubble in the corner, and ask for a new code.

2. Connect Facebook and Instagram

This is what lets SBS post for you. It's also where most people get stuck, so do the "before you start" part first.

Before you start
  • A Facebook Page for your business. A personal Facebook profile won't work.
  • You must be an admin of that Page.
  • Your Instagram must be a professional account (Business or Creator), not a personal one.
  • Your Instagram must be linked to your Facebook Page.

Part A: Switch Instagram to a professional account (skip if it already is)

  1. In the Instagram app, go to your profile and tap the menu (☰) in the top corner.
  2. Open Settings, then find Account type and tools.
  3. Tap Switch to professional account, pick a category, and choose Business.

Part B: Link Instagram to your Facebook Page

  1. In the Instagram app, tap Edit profile.
  2. Under Public business information, tap Page and choose your business's Facebook Page.
    • Instagram and Facebook move these menus around sometimes. If you don't see it, search "link Instagram to Facebook Page" in Instagram's help center.

Part C: Connect them to SBS

  1. In the SBS menu, open Marketing → Connected Accounts.
  2. On the Facebook card, tap Connect and log in with the Facebook account that manages your Page. This one step connects both Facebook and Instagram.
  3. When Facebook asks which Pages and Instagram accounts to share, select your business Page and your Instagram account.
  4. Leave every permission turned on and tap Continue / Save. If you turn permissions off, posting will fail.
  5. Back in SBS you'll see "Facebook and Instagram connected successfully!" and both cards will say Connected.
Troubleshooting
"No Pages found" or my Page isn't in the list
You're logged into a Facebook account that isn't an admin of the Page. Log in with the right account, or have the Page owner make you an admin.
"Facebook/Instagram connection was denied" or "failed"
You tapped Cancel or turned off a permission. Tap Connect again and leave everything on.
Facebook connected but Instagram didn't
Instagram is still personal, or it isn't linked to the Page. Redo Parts A and B, then connect again.
It worked before and stopped
Facebook logins expire, and changing your Facebook password disconnects apps. Connect again from the same screen.
What about X (Twitter), TikTok and Google?
SBS writes posts you can copy and paste there. Only Facebook and Instagram post automatically.

3. Upload photos and videos

SBS builds your posts from your real work, so the more good photos you add, the better your posts.

  1. In the menu, open Marketing → Media Library.
  2. Choose a photo, then fill in Description (what's in this photo). Say exactly what's in it.
    • Example: "Skin fade with beard trim on a client." This keeps captions from mismatching the picture.
  3. Tap Upload photo.
  4. Optional: tap Edit photo to rotate, flip, or adjust brightness and contrast, then tap Save Copy (default). Your original is kept.
  5. Add at least 10 photos to start. Fresh photos every week keep your posts from repeating.
Good to know
Videos are deleted from SBS automatically after they're posted, to save space. The post itself stays up on Facebook and Instagram. Use Remove to delete a photo anytime.

4. Turn on auto-posting

Pick your days and SBS posts at the best times for each platform.

Before you start
  • Finish guide 2 (connected accounts) and guide 3 (photos).
  1. In the menu, open Marketing → Posting Schedule.
  2. Turn on Auto-posting.
  3. Under Posting days, tap the days you want posts to go out.
  4. Save. SBS picks the best time of day on each of those days.
  5. Check Recent auto-posts to see what went out and whether each post shows as posted.
Want to write posts yourself for other apps?
Open Marketing → Create Post and tap ✨ Generate this week's posts. Tap Copy on any caption and paste it into Google, TikTok, X or anywhere else.

5. Build your offer page

An offer page (SBS calls it a funnel) is a simple page where people leave their name and phone number. You get a text the moment someone signs up, and so do they.

  1. In the menu, open Marketing → Funnels and tap + New funnel.
  2. Fill in the form:
    • Funnel name: for you only, like "Booking Funnel"
    • URL slug: the end of your link, like your-shop-name
    • Headline: your offer, like "Get a fresh cut this week"
    • Subheadline: one line of detail, like "Book in 30 seconds"
    • CTA button text: what the button says, like "Claim my spot"
    • Redirect URL (after capture): where people go after signing up, usually your booking link
    • Owner notification phone: the cell that gets a text for each new lead
  3. Tap Create funnel.
  4. Tap Copy to copy your link. It looks like socialbulletinsolutions.com/f/your-shop-name.
  5. Share it in your Instagram bio, Facebook posts, stories and text messages.
  6. Optional: next to Generate Ad, tap FB / IG or Google Search for ready-made headlines, body copy and a tracking link for a paid ad.
Troubleshooting
Facebook shows a blank preview when I share the link
Go to developers.facebook.com/tools/debug, paste your link, and tap Scrape Again. The preview photo is your newest Media library photo.
Where do my leads go?
You get a text right away, and every lead is saved in Clients → Client List.

6. Turn on missed-call text-back

When you can't pick up, SBS texts the caller right away so they don't call the next business. SBS gives you a local phone number for this. You don't need any other account.

Before you start
  • Your legal business name and address.
  • Your EIN (business tax ID) if you have one. No EIN is fine too.

Part A: Get your SBS number (one time)

  1. In the menu, open Messages → Missed-Call Text-Back.
  2. Tap Use a number we provide and send your business info.
  3. We register your number for business texting. Phone carriers require this for every business that texts, and approval usually takes a few days. We text you when you're live.

Part B: Turn it on

  1. Back on Missed-Call Text-Back, turn on Text-back enabled.
  2. In Forward missed calls to, enter your real cell number. Calls to your SBS number ring your phone like normal.
  3. Write your Text-back message, like "Sorry we missed you! Text us here and we'll get right back to you. Book online: [your booking link]".
  4. Tap Save settings.
  5. Put your SBS number on your Google profile, Instagram, website and flyers.
  6. Test it: call your SBS number from another phone and don't answer. After about 20 seconds of ringing, the text should arrive.
Already have your own Twilio account?
Tap Connect my own Twilio account instead and enter your Twilio Account SID, Twilio Auth Token and Twilio Phone Number, then tap Connect account. Twilio bills you directly, and you handle your own texting registration.

7. Set your hours and booking link

Clients can book you 24/7 from one link. No app to download.

  1. In the menu, open Bookings → Services & Staff. Tap + Add service and enter the name, minutes and price. Repeat for each service.
  2. Open Bookings → Shop Hours and set your open and close times for each day. Clients can only book during open hours.
  3. For lunch breaks and days off, open Settings → Shop Settings → Breaks & Time Off. Use Add Break for weekly breaks and Add Date for vacations.
  4. Back in Services & Staff, open the Booking Page tab and turn on Public booking page.
  5. Next to Booking page URL, tap Copy. Put the link in your Instagram bio, your Google profile, and your text-back message.
Already use Booksy, StyleSeat, theCut, Squire or Schedulicity?
Open Bookings → Platform Sync and connect your Google Calendar. Then, in your booking app's settings, turn on Google Calendar sync using that same Google account. Back in SBS, tap Sync now. Your appointments show up under Appointments, and you can tap Disconnect anytime.

8. Get reviews and bring clients back

More Google reviews bring new clients. Win-back and loyalty texts bring old ones back.

Turn on automatic review requests

  1. Search your business name on Google while logged into the Google account that manages it.
  2. In your business panel, tap Get more reviews (sometimes called Ask for reviews) and copy the link. It looks like g.page/r/…/review.
  3. In SBS, open Messages → Missed-Call Text-Back and scroll to Review requests.
  4. Paste it into Your Google review link, turn on Auto review requests, pick a Delay before sending (2 hours works well), and tap Save review settings.

Turn on win-back, loyalty and referrals

  1. In the menu, open Bring Clients Back → Win-Back Campaigns.
  2. Under Win-back settings, set Days before lapsed, like 45. Clients who haven't been back that long get a "we miss you" text.
  3. Open Loyalty Program. Under Loyalty / Punch-Card, set Visits needed and the Reward text, like "6th cut free."
  4. Open Clients → Referrals. Under Referral reward, choose 10% off next visit or a Free add-on. The client who refers and the new client both get it.
  5. Every client gets their own referral link automatically. Share it with Copy link.

Still stuck?

Tap the chat bubble in the corner of your dashboard and ask. It answers from these guides right away. If it can't answer, your question goes straight to the SBS team and we'll get back to you.
